The Night Marauder, the book

It’s surely been a minute since we last posted here at the Night Marauder Project. I want to extend my deepest gratitude to our fans, supporters, and contributors. We’ve been releasing snapshots of each attack along with context and background research into the broader case. But we said from the beginning that the end product was going to be a book and, well, that book has been written.

The road from timeline to published book is a long one and we appear to be on the later stages of that journey. We haven’t been updating the blog in large part because of the work involved in finishing the manuscript but also because we don’t want to reveal too much about the end of the story before the book comes out. The work isn’t totally done; I continue to give public presentations on the case, and I still get leads and pointers from the audience each time. But soon we will close the book on the Night Marauder, so to speak, and turn to new projects.

Keep an eye out for The Night Marauder: East Tennessee’s Serial Killer, 1919-1926 from University of Tennessee Press in 2026!
